I felt pity for the people who died for us. I lernt that we should cherish the things we have.

The Japanese occupation lasted for three years(1942-1945).Life was difficult for the people.People who was identified as enemies were killed by the Japanese, even though they were innocent.People did not have food and water.

During the Japanese Occupation , the Japanese gave the people only a little amount of food. People who didn't have enough food had to pick up rice grains on the floor. The POWs were very very skinny and boney.

During the Japenese Occupation,we must obey the Japenese or else they will torture us or killed us.We had lost many of our beloved ones who had fought for Singapore.I really hope in the future,there is no war.

During the war, the people did not have enough food and water.

The Japanese invade Singapore and resources were scarce during the occupation. The prices of basic necessities increased. Example, of 1kg of rice before the invade was $3 but after Japan invaded it increased to $10.
I feel sad for the innocentm people who had died during the japanese occupation.

The Japanese did not care about the pain that Singapore felt.

During the Japanese occupation, all the people in the country have difficulty in leaving but did not give up their life .I feel that they are very brave.If it is me i will be giving up my life to the japanese, but after i learn that all the people in the country is very brave now .I feel that not to give up my life.Carol Lin

The Japanese occupation which took place in Singapore started in the year 1942 and ended in 15 September 1945. As the Japanese were taking control of Singapore,they changed its name to Syonan-to. The Japanese also the founded the 'Kempeitai'

The Japanese soldiers were following the emperor's order. Men that are 18 and above were asked to go Pulau Tekun and some of them were identified to be traitors. Some who were identified traiters were killed at beach areas. When they got killed, they were not buried.

1. What a sad story happened to the boy's grandfather...i am so sad that i could burst into tears.
2. If I were in the boy's shoes, I felt proud for my grandfather for defending singapore and sad for the pupils who been tortured by the japanese.
3. In the war, the japanese was quite smart as they have so many ways of torturing them and they can easily caught the singaporeans red handed.

they torture the people who help china raise funds by covering their faces with wet cloth so that they could not breath.
